The MCS School Board has once again been recognized with the prestigious Tennessee School Board Association (TSBA) Board of Distinction Award for its exceptional work in the areas of planning, policy, promotion, and board development.

MCS invites parents and families to participate in upcoming Parent University classes designed to help families support student success at home and at school. Parent University offers interactive sessions led by educators and community experts on topics that impact student learning, well-being, and development.

The workshops provide practical tools and resources for families while strengthening the partnership between home and school. September topics include:

• Mobile Device Safety - Thursday, Sept. 10, noon, zoom
• Helping Your High Achieving Child Thrive - Monday, September 21, noon, zoom
• Your IEP Toolbox: Tools for Advocacy - Wed., Sept 16, 5:30-6:30 in person at MCS Central Office

Thirteen Murfreesboro City Schools has been selected to receive special recognition from The Tennessee Behavior Supports Project at Vanderbilt University for their implementation of Response to Instruction and Interventions for Behavior, otherwise known as RTI²-B. 

"Take 20", a 20-minute program focused on all things Murfreesboro City Schools, premiers Monday, April 12 at 7 p.m. on CityTV, City of Murfreesboro Facebook and YouTube and Murfreesboro City Schools Facebook.

Kindergarten registration for Murfreesboro City Schools is open now through May 14 for students entering kindergarten for the 2021-22 school year. All children entering kindergarten must be five years old on or before August 15, 2021.
