MCS Parent University offers Learning Opportunities for Families

Murfreesboro City Schools is excited to offer a new series of Parent University classes this September, providing families with practical tools, resources, and strategies to support student success both at home and at school.
Parent University is a free learning program designed to empower parents and caregivers through informative sessions led by educators and community experts. September’s lineup includes topics ranging from digital safety and positive parenting to advocacy and supporting high-achieving students.

Mobile Device Safety
Thursday, September 10
Noon | Virtual via Zoom
Learn tips and best practices for helping children navigate technology safely and responsibly. Parents found this session so valuable last year that we've invited the presenter back for another opportunity to learn.
Positive Parenting
Tuesdays, September 15, 22, and 29
5:00-7:00 p.m. | Northfield Elementary School
This three-session course focuses on effective parenting strategies that build stronger family relationships and encourage positive behaviors.
Your IEP Toolbox: Tools for Advocacy
Wednesday, September 16
5:30 p.m. | MCS Central Office
Parents will gain valuable information about Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and learn how to advocate effectively for their child’s educational needs.
Helping Your High-Achieving Child Thrive
Monday, September 21
Noon | Virtual via Zoom
Discover ways to support and challenge high-achieving learners while fostering balance and well-being.
Parent University classes are open to all Murfreesboro City Schools families and are offered at no cost. Whether attending in person or virtually, participants will leave with practical knowledge and resources they can use immediately.
