Quinena Bell

Mrs. Bell has been in education for 17 years. She began her career at Hobgood Elementary, teaching all subjects in third and fourth grade. In 2014, she became an academic interventionist. She later became an academic coach and then had the privilege to become an assistant principal in 2016. Mrs. Bell served in that capacity until she was hired as the principal of Hobgood in 2019.

Mrs. Bell has a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Middle Tennessee State University, a Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Middle Tennessee State University, and an Educational Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Middle Tennessee State University.

Mrs. Bell believes all children are unique and must have an engaging learning environment where they can grow mentally, emotionally, and socially. She is confident that caring teachers, intentional planning, quality instruction, and a supportive community will bring success and achievement.  

Mrs. Bell has been married for 16 years to her husband, Stephan. Her husband is in the military, and they have three children. Outside of school Mrs. Bell enjoys spending time with family and traveling.

Liz Rueby

Ms. Rueby has 14 years of education experience, with 11 of these years with Murfreesboro City Schools. Ms. Rueby spent two years as the assistant principal at Scales Elementary School. Ms. Rueby is working towards her Doctorate in Assessment, Learning, and School Improvement at Middle Tennessee State University. She earned her Master of Education in Administration and Leadership from Carson-Newman University and her Bachelor's degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. 

Ms. Rueby is known for being supportive, an effective communicator, and highly visible in both the school and community. She believes in a collaborative culture and that personal and academic success is possible for ALL! Ms. Rueby has been married for 12 years and has two sons. Outside of school, Ms. Rueby enjoys staying active outdoors and traveling.
